Chess Explorer is the most uniquely designed chess computer currently available.
The piece storage compartments are located on the sides of this chess computer giving it a distinctive appearance.
Chess Explorer has a backlit LCD screen to make viewing the chess clock easy.
Chess clock has ticking sound effect for more authentic tournament play. (can be turned on/off)
64 levels of play to adjust to your current playing ability. Auto power down will conserve your battery life. (can be turned on/off)
Chess Explorer has an opening book library with the ability to handle transpositions.
A transposition occurs when a position reached by a certain set of moves can also be reached when those same moves occur in a different order.
Chess Explorer records your games.
When a game is over, you can play to any position to see how other moves, or different strategies might have affected the outcome.

• 64 Adjustable Levels:
15 Normal Playing Levels - you select an average response time for the computer.
Infinite Level - the computer will either search indefinitely until it finds a forced mate, or forced move, or until it has fully searched the position to its maximum depth, or until you stop the search by pressing Enter.
8 Tournament Levels - require you to make a certain number of moves within a given amount of time.
8 Blitz Levels (also called Speed Chess) - you set the total time for the whole game.
8 Beginner Levels - the computer restricts its search so that it deliberately plays weaker, and gives you a better chance to win.
8 Mate Search Levels - computer will find if you have a position where there may be a mate.
16 Training Levels - the computer’s search depth is limited 1 to 16 ply's.

• Setup positions, a special sequence of moves, a particular chess opening, or moves you found in a chess book.
• Info Mode - will allow you to see the moves the computer is considering. (can be turned on/off)
• Switch sides with computer during game
• Computer can play itself
• 2 player mode will referee 2 human players to make certain both players follow rules of chess
• Saves game in memory for future use
• Hint will suggest a move to you
